Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of OR circulating experience and trauma background.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a 25-bed Level 1 Trauma Center
• Handles 60-70 cases with a heavy focus on Ortho, Spine, and Neuro surgeries
• Unit does not see Cardiac or Transplant cases
• Uses Epic charting system and Pyxis medication system
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1845-0615
• Weekend work required with flexibility expected
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required outside of scope
• No block scheduling accommodations, flexibility required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience required, 3-4 years preferred
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience required
• Strong Neuro and Ortho/Spine skills required, majority 3-4 ratings on skills checklist for these specialties
• Scrub experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Circulate for a variety of surgical procedures with emphasis on Ortho, Spine, and Neuro cases
• Facility is Magnet-designated, a teaching hospital, and a Level 1 Trauma Center with 500 staffed beds
• Facility provides scrubs
• Candidates using a compact license must apply for a WA license and complete 6-hour suicide prevention training with demographic data submission through the WA BON site
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days total, with no RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
• Holiday RTO restricted during 11/22-12/1, 12/22-12/27, and 12/28-1/5, with eligibility for only 1 of 3 major holidays plus 3 additional non-holiday RTO days outside these windows
• Working Christmas is highly preferred
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
