Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department role requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS/ENPC certification at a Level III trauma center.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Emergency Room at a hospital staffed with charge RNs, RNs, paramedics, and sitters
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Level III trauma center, accredited chest pain center, and primary stroke center
• Uses Lucas devices, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, GE bedside monitors, and EKG machines
• Meditech EMR system used
• No floating required
• Weekend shifts required at least twice per month
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• PALS or ENPC certification required (one of the two)
• TNCC certification required for ER placement
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the Emergency Department specialty
• ATCN or CEN certification preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform acute care and assessment of ER patients including trauma, chest pain, and stroke cases
• Responsibilities include IV initiation, blood collection, blood transfusions, medication administration, and resuscitation of adults and pediatric patients
• Assist with intubation, restraint application, splinting, and moderate sedation
• Care for behavioral health patients as part of unit duties
• Team-oriented environment with a family-like atmosphere, requiring flexibility across triage, resus rooms, and other unit areas
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
