Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring acute care experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg unit (1 East) located on the 1st floor of the Main Hospital between the ED and HVC
• 29-bed unit with 42 staff members
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 2 RNs, 2 LVNs, 2 techs, and 1 HUC
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 2 RNs, and 2 LVNs
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Standard unit equipment with Meditech EMR
• Shift schedule is Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 7A-7P
• Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other inpatient Med/Surg units

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience required
• Experience in neuro med/surg, general medicine, or orthopedics preferred
• Experience with procedures such as abdominal fluid removal and central line placement preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide patient care within a Med/Surg unit setting with a focus on acute care needs
• Best suited for candidates with a people-oriented, patient-focused personality
• Scrub color is royal blue; no sweatshirts, t-shirts, crocs, artificial nails, or extreme hair colors permitted
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
