Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience for a night shift assignment requiring on-call and holiday coverage.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a short-term acute care hospital
• Core 3 & 4 OR handling General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics cases
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 rooms
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• On-call requirement of 6 call shifts within a 6 week period, which can vary
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including circulating with scrub preferred
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System used for robotic procedures

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
• Level I trauma experience required (candidates with 2+ years overall experience and at least 1 year in Level I trauma may be considered)
• Well-rounded and current skills across most OR specialties, excluding CV and Transplant
• Experience with a wide range of surgical procedures including gynecologic, neurologic, general, orthopedic, urologic, and robotic surgeries
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking available

• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay package
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents
