Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PACU position at a Level 3 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of PACU experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a Level 3 Trauma Center
• 12-hour day shifts, with start times ranging from 6:30am, 8am, 9am, or 10am
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• On-call required every third weekend (12 or 24 hours) with potential for 2-4 nights weekly
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend
• May float to ICU as a resource, though travelers will not take ICU patients directly
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact) required
• 2+ years of PACU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Valid driver's license required
• Work history Skills Checklist specific to PACU required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required

Additional Information

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary team managing patient care
• PACU staff are cross-trained in ICU and currently float there once a week
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the holiday blackout periods surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local candidates are accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may not work travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
