Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring active Minnesota RN licensure and prior high-risk OB experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Holiday coverage required as needed by facility

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required (in hand or proof of application at time of consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP
• AWHONN Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced certification preferred
• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• OR, Antepartum, and Triage experience preferred
• High Risk OB experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and managing hemorrhage/shock situations
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, preterm labor, and other high-risk OB conditions
• Experience with postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessment
• Experience with pain management techniques including epidural anesthesia and PCA

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Support high-risk OB patients including those with pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessment
• Must complete Minnesota Livescan fingerprinting in person within Minnesota on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, at the traveler's own expense
• Required lab work must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Medical or religious vaccine exemption requests must include appropriate documentation
