Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position on night shift, requiring at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience.

Details

Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) setting
Telemetry patient population including neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and plastics patients
Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
Float required within OSU system

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry nursing experience required
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols
Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care/stepdown patients requiring close monitoring
Complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location promptly after booking
Candidates located far from Ohio will receive a fingerprinting packet by mail to complete urgently
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
