Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with at least 1 year of experience and required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
• 4x12-hour day shifts from 11:00 to 23:00, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• 2 weekend shifts required per contract
• Epic charting system used, experience required
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds and multisystem organ dysfunction management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy including central line, arterial line, and blood product administration
• Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including suicidal patients and violent behavior
• Pediatric emergency care skills required, including asthma, seizures, and infection management

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
• Assist with orthopedic trauma care including splinting
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
