Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2+ years of experience and a Maine or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg General unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
- 13-week assignment length
- Float policy of 25 miles between facilities as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maine or compact) required upon submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- AHA certifications accepted as non-AHA at submission but must be completed before start
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract at manager's discretion
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should note this during consideration
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Pros
This hospital is hands down the least toxic hospital I have ever had the privilege of working. I absolutely love the people I work with. Everyone I come into contact with likes what they do and they do it with passion. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s close.
Cons
It’s a smaller hospital, so there’s a lot of critical care devices (CRRT, ECMO, etc) to work with like level 1 trauma centers have.
