Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring post open heart fresh case recovery experience with IABP and Impella skills.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Preferred experience with Meditech charting system
• Floating required to ICU, IMC, and helping hands units as needed
• Travelers may also be required to float to the Ridgewood Observation Unit

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Experience with post open heart fresh case recovery required
• Experience with IABP and Impella required
• ECMO and CRRT experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required with no clinical or professional cancellations
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC
• Experience with cardiac drip and vasoactive drip titration
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80%, no retakes permitted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to post cardiac surgery, cardiac cath/intervention, and TAVR patients
• Care for patients requiring Swan Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring
• Must complete required pre-employment lab work within two business days of offer acceptance
• Orientation and annual training modules required per specialty
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at a local rate
