Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring a PA or Compact RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring responsibilities including both on-unit and remote monitoring
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and interpretation required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing respiratory equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Valid driver's license, SSN, and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including dysrhythmia management and use of rapid response/code teams
• Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and cardiovascular post-procedure care
• Must be willing to float with priority given based on facility need
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must be willing to work every other holiday
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to apply through an agency
• Travelers who have completed a cumulative year within the health system must wait two years before returning
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of signing
