Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for Interventional Radiology with required ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology department of a hospital with 1 IR angiosuite and 5 IR holding area beds
• Days shift, 5x8 schedule with weekend hours as needed
• On-call rotation required
• 1:1 patient ratios in the Imaging department
• Patients undergo invasive and non-invasive procedures in IR suite, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and Diagnostic Imaging
• Uses Nihonkohden patient monitors
• Cerner EMR currently in use, transitioning to Epic in October 2024
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS required; ARNA certification preferred
• Minimum 1+ years of recent experience in the specialty required
• Critical care nursing experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring while patients are in the Imaging department
• Maintain IV lines, administer medications under physician direction, and assist with various imaging procedures
• Act as liaison between the Imaging department and patient care division, documenting patient records and notifying staff of condition changes
• Maintain emergency equipment and crash cart supplies for the Imaging department
• Interact with patients across a range of age groups and backgrounds
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
• Surgical scrubs provided for procedure area; street clothes not acceptable attire
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local contract restrictions, limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius
• First-time travelers may be considered
