Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (ICU) position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications along with 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit within a Level 2 trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Bariatric accredited hospital
• 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5 depending on shift and staffing support
• Primarily total RN-based care with limited tech support unless unit is stretched
• Uses BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• 13-week assignment with 7A-7P shift schedule
• Floating required to the Telemetry Unit based on scheduling needs
• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds are standard practice

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• 1 year of recent ICU/PCU experience required
• Strong advanced assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Experience managing vasoactive drips required
• Experience with central line/PICC line placement and chest tube placement required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• Two professional references required for Missouri placements
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct bedside ICU-level nursing care including management of critical care equipment and procedures
• Work collaboratively as part of a team with a positive, patient-focused attitude
• Required uniform of charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms, and black or charcoal grey jackets
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• Rotating holiday schedule applies
