Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring MO or compact RN license and 2+ years of OR experience.

Details

• Operating Room department within a hospital setting
• Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Call requirements include weekend call once per month (Saturday and Sunday) and weekday call once every two weeks
• 30-minute arrival time required when on call
• May float to the surgery center as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Skilled in emergency management, fire safety, and equipment handling including cell saver
• Experience with administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience in wound management
• Surgical specialty experience required across thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, ortho/spine, and urology procedures
• Procedures include lobe resection, lung resection/thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
• One holiday selected at the time of contract signing is required for coverage
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
