Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment on a locked incarcerated unit, requiring comfort working with the prison population and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit located within a locked, incarcerated section of the hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Float required to other MS/Tele units, forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Strict no-call policy in place

Requirements

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required, including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Oncology experience preferred, including chemotherapy administration
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates must be comfortable working on a unit housing incarcerated patients
• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg and Telemetry patient populations, including forensic and inpatient cases
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Holiday rotation required for contracts starting in September, with staff expected to work 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
• RTO requests for the above holidays will not be approved for contracts beginning in September
• Contracts starting in September should extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
