Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and critical care skills.

Details

• ICU unit setting within a hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend shifts required
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred
• Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs and performing ETT/NT suctioning
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct critical care nursing to ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring and advanced respiratory support
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or accept local rate
• Former permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no time off requested during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full calendar weeks off
• Holiday coverage expected during the assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
