Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for an evening shift position requiring NJ or compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Evening shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilator patient care
• Proficient in suctioning (ETT, NT) and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with arterial line and central line care/management
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
