Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room/Surgery position requiring a NM or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Operating Room/Surgery department within a hospital setting
• 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts
• Weekend requirement of 1-2 24-hour call shifts
• On-call requirement of 1-2 call nights per week with charge duties as needed
• Floating required to Main and other departments as needed
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or compact required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in operating room nursing preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side-effects and treatment effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Dress code items provided
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must be separated for 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
