Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MS/Tele competencies and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes general medical surgical cases such as respiratory diseases, infections, dementia, and neurological issues
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required, though scheduling may vary based on facility needs
• Floating required to other MS/Tele units or facilities based on census needs
• Charge RN present every shift to support unit flow and operations
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• Uses EPIC for documentation

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field
• MS/Tele competencies required, including ability to pass an EKG exam
• At least 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with respiratory care (oxygen administration, nasal cannula) and renal failure management

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a strong teamwork-oriented, healthy work environment
• Participate in mandatory floating to other qualified units or campuses based on census needs
• Complete pre-assignment testing and compliance modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for full travel pay rate, with reduced rates available for 90-99.9 miles depending on specialty exceptions
