Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring SC or compact RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for orthopedic and bariatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC EMR
• Floating required to other similar units or nearby hospitals as needed based on census

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required
• 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and oxygen administration via nasal cannula
• EKG test skills required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to orthopedic and bariatric patient populations
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with reduced bill rate accepted for 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must live 50+ miles from the contracted campus, with distances under 50 miles ineligible
