Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with Cerner and cardiac monitoring experience for a locked incarcerated hospital unit requiring 1 year of experience.
Details
- Work on a locked incarcerated unit within the Med/Surg Tele department
- Travelers must be comfortable working with the incarcerated patient population
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Float required to other MS/Tele units including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Strict no-call policy in place
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
- Oncology skills and chemotherapy administration experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- No documents may expire during the contract term
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care within a forensics/incarcerated care setting on the Med/Surg Tele unit
- Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies involving dysrhythmias
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Holiday coverage required for 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
- RTO requests for the above holidays will not be approved for contracts beginning in September
- Contracts starting in September should extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
- Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged to accommodate personal holiday preferences
