Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with critical care skills for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
• Proficient in ETT and NT suctioning and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line, and central line management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management and interpretation, and emergency response
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Previous staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
