Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown role requiring 2 years of MedSurg experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 22-bed adult MedSurg Oncology unit (5T) with frequent floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratios: Stepdown 1:4-5, MedSurg 1:5-6
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required between MedSurg and Stepdown/PCU units as needed
• Holiday coverage required in rotation with staff
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 2 years of MedSurg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• IV start skills required
• No license or background check issues accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across MedSurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as needed
• Floating occurs only within this single hospital facility
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
• Possible contract extension beyond the initial 13 weeks
