Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and EKG proficiency for an 8-week contract.

Details

• Hospital setting on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
• Caring for boarded patients in the ED (not ED patients) as well as MS/Tele patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Float to other Medical-Surgical units when not needed in the ED
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted if permanent license application has been submitted)
• BLS certification required (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 4+ years preferred
• EKG test score of 80% or higher required prior to consideration
• Must pass an onsite EKG test on Day 1 of orientation to continue the assignment
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• New graduates not accepted
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge within the last year required, with at least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to boarded ED patients and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry patients
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been away for at least 12 months to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract
• Facility conducts a brief interview, typically 10-15 minutes
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted given the experience and new graduate requirements
