Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for an 8-week day shift contract requiring EKG proficiency and prior MS/Tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit caring for boarded patients in the ED (not ED patients) with floating to other MS units as needed
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every-other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• 8-week contract length
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted if permanent application receipt is provided)
• Active BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 4+ years preferred
• EKG test score of 80% or higher required prior to consideration
• Epic EMR experience required
• New graduates not accepted
• Full SSN required for consideration
• Two current references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge in the relevant specialty within the last year, with at least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

• Care for boarded patients within the ED and float to other medical-surgical units as census requires
• On-site EKG test (pass/fail) required on Day 1 of orientation, with a study guide provided beforehand
• Must pass the Day 1 EKG test to continue the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from the facility for 12 months before being eligible as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 3 days for this 8-week contract
• Facility conducts a brief candidate interview of approximately 10-15 minutes
• First-time travelers are not specified but new graduates are not accepted
