Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry unit caring for MS/TEL patients
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• First to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units
• No on-call requirement
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted if proof of pending permanent license application is provided)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must pass EKG test with 80% or higher score prior to starting, and pass an onsite EKG test on Day 1
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro nursing experience required
• New graduates not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in employment history
• 2 current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge in the relevant specialty area within the last year
• At least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated for at least 12 months before being submitted as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts and 3 days for 8-week contracts
• Hospital conducts a brief 10-15 minute interview as part of the hiring process
