Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN Circulator for a critical access hospital, requiring strong orthopedic surgery experience and call coverage.

Details

Operating Room unit at a critical access hospital offering general surgery services
Circulator role supporting procedures including laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, cholecystectomy, soft tissue mass excisions, colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and oncologic surgery for breast or colon cancer
Day shift schedule, 9-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Weekend requirement of one weekend per month (Friday to Monday), with holiday coverage required if needed
On-call requirement of 10 shifts per month, including one weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday 24-hour shifts) and rotating holidays
Call hours run from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM the next day, Monday through Thursday

Requirements

Active VT RN license or Compact license required
Current BLS certification (AHA) required
Minimum 2 years of current OR experience in a hospital setting
Strong Circulator experience with orthopedic surgery required
Minimum 3 months of travel nursing experience required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Must have own vehicle for this assignment
Skills checklist for Operating Room required, current within 1 year
One supervisory signed reference required from within the past two years of employment

Additional Information

Provide circulating support for general surgery cases including abdominal, soft tissue, and trauma procedures
General surgeon is on call for urgent/emergent cases such as appendectomy, bowel obstruction relief, and complex laceration repair
Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted for the duration of the assignment
All scheduling and RTO requests must be submitted and verified prior to offer; requests made after offer or at interview will not be approved
