Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiac ICU/PICU position requiring NC or compact RN license and PALS certification.

Details

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center serving infants to age 18 with medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, oncology, transplant, burn, and neuro patients
• Shared staffing model between a 20-bed PICU and 13-bed PCICU, including 8 PICU cardiac beds
• Flexibility to float between both units is required as part of the assignment
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity
• Unit offers ECMO and CRRT capabilities
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours), 0.9 FTE
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Experience with point of care testing, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver clinical nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical, surgical, and cardiac needs
• Perform bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Assess discharge needs and support families in advocating for patient care
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
