Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of trauma center experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• 29-bed telemetry unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Average length of stay of 3-4 days
• Common diagnoses include neurosurgery, urology, ortho, surgical overflow, and tele/MS patients
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Possible floating to other area hospitals (Glenbrook, Skokie, Highland Park)
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred, American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• New graduates not accepted
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge in the relevant specialty area within the last year
• Full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a telemetry population with a variety of surgical and neurological diagnoses
• On-site EKG competency test required on Day 1 of orientation, with a study guide provided in advance
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts
• A brief onsite interview (10-15 minutes) is required as part of the hiring process
