Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Long Term Care night shift position requiring WI or compact RN license and one year of LTC experience.

Details

• Long Term Care unit within a skilled nursing/rehabilitation facility setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Every other weekend rotation with some holiday coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:20 with one RN per hall supported by a med tech per hall
• CNA ratios of 1:8-10 on days and 1:20 on nights
• Night shift RN assumes charge duties and may be the only RN in the facility
• Floating required as needed
• Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), AIDET utilization, and hourly rounding required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of long term care experience required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
• Experience in rehab, IV therapy, PICC lines, and wound care preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities span a broad range of LTC skills including wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, respiratory and cardiac assessments, and end-of-life care
• Experience with neurological conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's, CVA, and stroke assessment is valued
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered

• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
