Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a diverse surgical case background and NY licensure for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Diverse surgical caseload spanning ortho-total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 11:00 to 21:30
• Call required
• Floating required
• Epic EMR preferred

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Broad OR skill set required across specialties including general surgery, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho/spine, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, bariatrics, podiatry, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
• Proficiency in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and latex allergy precautions
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Teal scrubs required
• Minimal RTO accepted
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous employees must have a 6-month system-wide separation to be eligible for rehire
