Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Float pool position within the Med/Surg Tele unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient staffing ratio of 1:6
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required with 2+ years overall experience
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Experience with neuro/psych conditions such as CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury preferred
• Two recent supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Float as needed across Med/Surg and Tele units to support patient care
• Provide care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, respiratory support, and post-surgical management
• Strict RTO policy of 5 days or less
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Previous LCMC Health permanent employees must have separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
