Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift position requiring NJ or compact licensure and prior critical care experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred but not required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) and managing arterial and central lines
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management and interpretation
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted
