Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior teaching and trauma hospital experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in an academic teaching hospital setting
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Uses Philips telemetry monitoring system
• Epic charting system required
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating to other UCSF facilities required, including reassignment within a 75+ mile radius if job specifications are met

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and Tele experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required within the last 12 months
• Experience with Philips telemetry monitoring system required
• Preferred: surgical orthopedic experience, acute care nursing experience, PCRN or CCRN certification, critical care experience, and LTAC experience

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on orthopedic and surgical patient populations
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams as needed
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and management of various post-surgical and medical conditions
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, with no exceptions; proof must be provided or a scheduled booster appointment confirmed before start date
• Two professional references from most recent employer required
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of offer; no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• First-time travelers not considered due to required prior travel experience
