Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating to like units required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, and telemetry
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including GI, GU/renal, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel positioning
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Non-billable orientation modules are completed onsite, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
