Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA licensure, CPI Blue Card certification, and Epic EMR experience.

• Non-trauma Emergency Department at a Stroke Certified Facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:00-06:30
• May occasionally be required to work a mid shift (11-11, 1-1, or 3-3)
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required in-hand (MAB or online CPI Blue not accepted)
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Dept experience required
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• Skilled in pediatric emergency care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and neurological assessment
• Experience managing trauma presentations including CVA, head injury, overdose, and multisystem organ dysfunction

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, respiratory distress, cardiac emergencies, neurological events, and psychiatric crises
• Perform triage, manage isolation precautions and PPE, and apply splints as needed
• Administer emergency medications, manage IV insulin and vasopressor protocols, and assist with procedural sedation
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role; prior travel experience is required
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Previous employees must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• No requested time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO preferred across the 13-week contract
