Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3+ years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift schedule, alternating 36/48 hour weeks (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 13:00-01:00)
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required (2 years considered if from a high volume/trauma facility)
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience managing pediatric and adult emergencies including head injury, seizures, respiratory infection, and psychiatric crises
• Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and spinal cord injury
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Ability to apply splints and manage orthopedic trauma

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform procedural sedation monitoring, ABG interpretation, and ventilator patient care as needed
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
