Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Level II trauma teaching hospital, requiring strong renal, urology, and transplant care experience.

Details

• 22-bed Med/Surg unit caring for general medical-surgical patients including renal, transplant, and urology cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12s totaling 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week accommodations available upon request)
• Floating required across campuses to like units at Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Every other or every 3rd weekend required depending on staffing and census
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital/medical center setting required
• Strong experience in renal and urology care required
• Proficient transplant care experience required
• At least one travel contract completed within the previous 15 months required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide general Med/Surg nursing care including renal, transplant, and urology patient populations
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with academic and ancillary services
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays, including mandatory availability for Thanksgiving
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UnityPoint Health facility if employed within the past 12 months
