Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown)
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with holidays as needed
• Floating required as needed to any Cone Health campus
• Primary focus on cardiac patients including CHF, rule-out MI, ACS, and arrhythmias
• Secondary focus on respiratory patients including COPD and pneumonia
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and EKG
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and feeding tube management preferred
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and TR Band use preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and cardiac drip titration preferred
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and respiratory telemetry patients, including monitoring for arrhythmias and emergency response
• Teaching hospital and previous charge experience preferred
• All RNs must pass a pass/fail EKG compliance exam with two attempts allowed, regardless of specialty
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
