Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit requiring 2 years of experience, travel experience, and night shift availability.

Details

• Neuro PCU setting within a progressive care unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Patient ratio of 1:4, sometimes 1:5
• Floating required divisionally, including overflow and ED holds
• Must work 2-3 holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC care
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and insulin drips
• Experience with CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, TBI, and substance withdrawal care
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation

Additional Information

• Provide progressive care nursing to neurological and cardiac telemetry patients
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana, with zero tolerance for positive results
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to accepting an offer
