Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and at least 3 years of trauma/adult ED experience.

Details

Work in a combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with various days including late mid shifts
Patient ratio of 1:4 with an average daily census of 140 and 21 beds
No floating required outside of scope
No call requirements
Every other weekend required
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
BSN required
Minimum 3 years of experience in Trauma and Adult Emergency Department (5 years preferred)
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
Epic charting experience required
Experience with pediatrics, respiratory care, IV therapy, and emergency medications
Experience managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, and STEMI/stroke protocols
Experience with psychiatric and behavioral health patients
Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric presentations
Perform procedures such as 12-lead EKG/ECG, splinting, and chest tube management
Navy blue scrubs required
First-time travelers may be considered with caution based on strong ER nursing experience
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
Recommended to keep RTO under 7 days per assignment where possible
Former UCLA contractors, travelers, or permanent employees must have a 12-month separation and be cleared before rejoining
Candidates currently active with any University of California entity are not eligible for consideration
