Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital position requiring RRT certification and 1+ years of recent experience.

Details

Respiratory Therapy / Neuro Diagnostics unit in a hospital setting
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
Weekend rotation required, typically no more than every other weekend
On-call requirements may apply, up to 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule with on-call hours limited to 4PM-8PM on night shift
Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
Epic EMR used

Requirements

Active RRT certification required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
State license required if applicable
Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience required
Community hospital experience required
Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, IMV, and SIMV
Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
Experience caring for patients with ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and ECMO

Additional Information

Provide respiratory care to adult critical care and emergency department patients
Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and suctioning procedures
Participate in patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
Orientation held weekly on Mondays with annual compliance requirements
RTO should be limited and holidays are not guaranteed
First-time travelers will be considered
Radius requirements apply based on specialty and shift; RRT night shift travelers must be 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
