Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift hospital position supporting adult critical care, emergency, and NICU patients.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30-7:00
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week, open to a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Works in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU settings
• Performs in-hospital patient transports
• Every other weekend required, including 2 Fridays in a 4-week schedule
• No call requirement
• Epic charting required

Requirements

• CRT, CRTT, or RRT certification required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required to work in NICU
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• LA state license required if applicable
• Experience with ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, SIMV, and high frequency oscillation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high frequency jet ventilator
• Experience with medication delivery and administration including nebulizers, MDIs, and various respiratory medications
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and those requiring ECMO or bronchoscopy

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency, and neonatal intensive care settings
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal airway management as needed
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at this health system within the past year to be eligible
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
