Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3 years of ER experience and TX or compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric population in a Level II Trauma Center
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Evening shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours), 13:00-01:00
• Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI, ENPC, and MAB certifications preferred
• 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if obtained in a high-volume/trauma facility
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and managing dysrhythmias
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and dysrhythmia management
• Skilled in managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients
• Able to apply/manage splints and treat orthopedic trauma

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of pediatric and adult conditions including respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Treat traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, CVA, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including for marijuana, with no exceptions for positive results
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
