Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 3 years of recent ER experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours), 19:00-07:00, on a 36/48 hour alternating biweekly schedule
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• CPI, ENPC, and MAB certifications preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if gained in a high-volume/trauma facility
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Experience managing pediatric emergencies such as asthma, head injury, and seizures preferred
• Experience with psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis and suicidal patients preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and continuous IV medication administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patients preferred
• Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Proficient in isolation precautions, PPE, and triage protocols
• Skilled in orthopedic splinting and management of ortho trauma

Additional Information

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
• RTO must be submitted with application
• License must be in-hand prior to start date
