Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for patients with chest pain, NSTEMI/STEMI, cardiac cath, TEE, cardioversions, stress tests, pacemakers, AMI, Afib, CHF, bradycardia, AICD insertion, and SVT/tachycardia
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in telemetry, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips; titration skills preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath patient care

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including dysrhythmia monitoring and emergency response
• Unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
• Holiday coverage expected per facility policy: 1-2 holidays worked with no holiday RTO, or if 3 holidays fall during the assignment, 2 must be worked with 1 holiday RTO request possibly considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and Christmas Eve/Day and New Year's Eve/Day
• Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
• Former permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or not approved to return must complete one successful assignment outside the health system before reapplying
