Description
American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with EPIC EMR experience and a TN or compact RN license, requiring prior travel experience.
Details
- Step Down unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Weekend shift required every 2 weeks
- Floating to other units/campuses required based on census needs, limited to qualified and competency-verified areas
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
- 1+ years of recent experience in a Step Down or related unit
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- 1-year minimum experience with EPIC EMR required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- No first-time travelers considered
Additional Information
- Care for patients requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration preferred
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management a plus
- Experience in neurological, oncology, GI, cardiovascular, or orthopedic specialties is a plus
- Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
- Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel assignments, with reduced rates for those 90-99.9 miles away
- Exceptions to the mileage rule apply for night shift travelers and certain specialties, requiring a minimum distance of 50 miles from the contracted campus
