Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 24-bed Med-Surg Tele unit requiring 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

Work in a 24-bed Med-Surg Tele unit
Mixed diagnosis patient population with a 6:1 patient ratio
Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a, three days per week
Every other weekend required
Uses Epic EMR
RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
Unit supported by CRN and discharge nurse, with weekday pharmacist coverage
Equipment used includes IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer

Requirements

Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac, and dialysis assessment

Additional Information

Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and may serve as a mentor/preceptor
Facilitates patient and family education throughout the stay and at discharge
Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and utilizes organizational resources appropriately
