Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med-Surg unit requiring telemetry and postop care experience along with a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit (2 North)
• Staffing includes charge nurses, RN/LVNs, aides, and a unit clerk
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Equipment used includes C.O.W.s, BP machines, Doppler, bladder scanner, heating pad, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, sit-to-stand lift, traction, SCDs, IV pumps, PCA pump, epidural pump, Ambit pain pump, and KCI & Prevena wound vacs
• EMR used is Meditech Expanse (PCS)
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
• Floating to ICU required for MedSurg overflow patients
• Must sign up for every other weekend or two weekends within a 4-week schedule

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry and postop care experience required
• 2+ years of RN experience preferred
• PALS and NIH Stroke certifications preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include daily weights, vital signs, intake/output monitoring, hourly rounding, and bedside report
• Perform CBI, cardiac gtt, heparin gtt, phototherapy, wound care, IV starts, NGT and foley care, and admit/discharge own patients
• Best fit is a self-motivated, team-oriented nurse who takes initiative
• Navy blue scrub attire required
• Holiday coverage required; RTO must be pre-approved
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; no local candidates accepted
