Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 based on acuity
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call required with a 45-minute reporting window
• Floating to other units or sister facilities within the health system may be required based on census and skill needs
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at time of submission)
• OR RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, MAB
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients with varying acuity levels
• Responsibilities include management of ventilated patients, IV therapy, blood product administration, and monitoring for complications such as abdominal compartment syndrome
• Scrubs provided for OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child units; any color accepted for other units
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though pending license candidates are considered
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates may only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
